Graston® Technique

Graston® is a patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that allows practitioners to effectively break down scar tissue and restrictions.  Using specifically designed stainless steel instruments, areas of scar tissue can be effectively detected and treated. To detect areas of fibrosis the instrument combs over and “catches” on the fibrotic tissue.  Once the problem tissue is identified, the instruments are used to break up the scar tissue.  Removing scar tissue will improve range of motion and decrease pain, which will allow the patient to function as they did prior to injury.
